Hey Everyone!
I have a favour to ask those who live in Greater Toronto Area ( & beyond).
My sister Diana is a medical student at McMaster’s Waterloo Campus and has taken on the responsibility of helping to promote the Kitchener-Waterloo Kids With Cancer Run/Walk in support of the Pediatric Oncology Group Of Ontario ( POGO) for the last two years running.
POGO was founded by Pediatric Oncologists in 1983 to help improve the lives of children who are battling cancer.
In their own words:
“POGO’s purpose is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families by providing equitable access to the best possible care—from state-of-the-art diagnosis, to the most advanced treatments and systematic follow-up. [E]nsuring children across Ontario’s vast geography have the greatest prospects for survival with an optimal quality of life.”
For last year’s edition of the event I had the privilege and honour of interviewing a local Waterloo family who lost their young son to pediatric cancer. They had such wonderful things to say about the positive impact and support that POGO provided them throughout the harrowing ordeal and being able to discuss and write about their son’s journey was a truly touching experience.
I wanted to do my part again this year to help both my sister and this amazing cause.
Please have a closer look at the event details below!
