It should come as no secret to anyone reading today’s article that I have spent the greater part of the last three years diligently growing my blogging and social media portfolio in parallel with my private practice.
I started with a free website from Wix, zero clients, zero followers and zero blog posts.
In less than 3 years my passion for writing and increasing social media savvy have allowed me to grow from modest beginnings into a profitable, thriving and diverse business which has included:
- Operating my own private practice and bringing in hundreds of clients
- Becoming a focal point for nutrition blog content in my community
- Numerous paid writing engagements, topped off by a book deal
- Being involved in a number of speaking engagements ( including at colleges, and one to come at FNCE!)
- And so much more…
Why am I telling you all of this?
I feel strongly that that now is the right time for me to transition away from focusing only on creating my own content and towards offering a service to help others leave their own mark on the health writing and nutrition space.
I’ve spoken to so many of you who are eager to break into more entrepreneurial endeavors and utilize the power of blogging and social media to help get you there.
I want to be part of your journey.
Kaleigraphy represents the culmination of three years of dedication to the craft of health blogging and the realization of a big dream of mine, which is having the opportunity to help others utilize the mediums that I love to build towards their own personal and professional goals.
So my question for you is simple…
Are you a current or aspiring nutrition professional?
Do you want to get into the health writing game, but don’t know where to start?
Do you love writing but feel like it doesn’t love you back?
Do you want and wish to be a better blogger?
Do you want to learn how to use social media to help make sure people actually read what you have to say?
And most importantly… do you want my 100% personalized guidance to help you to achieve any or all of the above?
That’s where Kaleigraphy, the intersection of nutrition and creative writing, comes into play.
So What The Heck Is Kaleigraphy?
For those that who haven’t figured it out yet the word Kaleigraphy is a hybridization of my favourite food ( kale, which represents nutrition) and the Calligraphy, which represents both creativity and writing proficiency.
All of which I have in abundance of course!
Anyone who has been following me knows that writing means SO MUCH to me and has given SO MUCH to me both personally and professionally.
I recognize the fact that many of my followers and readers happen to be either nutrition students or health professionals with a desire to one day become entrepreneurs and prominent content creators in their own right.
Kaleigraphy was made for YOU.
Is Kaleigraphy Right For You?
Kaleigraphy is not a pre-made one size fits all course.
It does not already exist.
Kaleigraphy is 1-on-1 time working with me, finding solutions to your unique concerns and ambitions.
Kaleigraphy is right for you if you willing to invest modestly in expert ( me!) feedback and training on all aspects of your blogging style effectiveness from idea generation to publication to promotion.
How Much Does it Cost?
There is no set fee.
I am offering an introductory rate of $40 per 30 minutes of my time, of which you can take up as much or as little as you want.
I want this service to be as accessible as possible and to accommodate as many people as possible.
I can be an on-going consultant for your blogging or social media endeavours, or we can just chat for 30 minutes about your approach to blogging and strategies for your success.
How you utilize it is completely up to you.
You should know that I originally envisioned Kaleigraphy as a purely writing-tutoring service ( as you will see below) but after a great deal of feedback, I want to broaden the scope to accommodate different peoples needs.
Sample Kaleigraphy Session
Client Goal: Improving Health Blogging/Writing Skills
Proposed Appointment Structure
- An initial 15-30 minute phone, Skype or Zoom call to discuss the areas of concern in your writing and determine a sample blog topic for you to write assessment purposes.
- A written critique + review of a sample of your writing of your choice ( either pre-existing, or made specifically for this purpose) crafted by yours truly ( 30-45 minutes)
- A 15-30minute follow up to discuss the review, address your questions/concerns and the next steps to be taken to improve future work.
Estimated Time Required: ~90 minutes Estimated Total Cost: $120
The above is a sample Kaleigraphy session, broken down and including costing as I envisioned it initially.
I also know that different people will hope to get different things out of this service.
How exactly the service operates will depend entirely on how much or how little you want to get out of it ( or me).
I will always provide honest cost estimates and we can work together for as much, or as little, as you find value in it.
I want to work with as many as possible, that’s my goal in running this service.
Getting “rich” is not the motivation behind Kaleigraphy, sharing my passion is.
Final Thoughts
Kaleigraphy can offer you any of the following, and more:
- A thorough assessment of the strengths and limitations of your writing style, based on the review of a writing sample of your choice
- Customized feedback to guide you towards becoming a more compelling and effective writer
- A thorough assessment of your social media presence and strategies
- Strategies to either kick start or greatly improve a preexisting blog/social media presence
- The chance to work with me 1-on-1 and ask pretty much anything you want within my areas of expertise
