Introducing Wendell Estate’s Raw Canadian Honey

You don’t need me to tell you that honey is a widely loved product which brings to the table a unique flavour profile and level of sweetness that has the potential to greatly enhance our enjoyment of some of our favourite foods.

Let’s linger on this point for a moment. I spend a great deal of time, both with my clients privately and on social media, helping people feel very comfortable with the fact that some added sweetener in their diet, particularly as a flavour enhancer of nutritious foods, is a truly welcome addition.

A tablespoon of honey has 64 calories.

Imagine Some Of The Following Extremely Nutritious Food Items:

  • Nuts
  • Yogurt
  • Oatmeal
  • Salmon
  • Green Tea
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Smoothies
  • Green Tea
  • Whole Grain Bread

These are a mere sampling of foods that could greatly contribute to someone’s long term health and are all common candidates to be sweetened with honey.

I’m not here today to talk about just any honey though.

Today’s post features and is presented in sponsorship with Wendell Estate Honey, a highly decorated Canadian honey brand which produces 100% pure, unpasteurized, and unfiltered prairie-blossom honey.

Wendell Estate Honey

Here are some things I’d like you to know:

  • The family business goes all the way back to Saskatchewan in the 1930s
  • They currently manage around 5000hives in the golden triangle (Manitoba/Saskatchewan)
  • Their honey is globally recognized for its signature ice-white colour and uniquely smooth, silky and spreadable texture not matched by other varieties.
  • It also retains  its original properties including pollen and natural enzymes because it is unheated, unfiltered and raw.

So what we have here is a Canadian product with a unique composition, functionality and aesthetic that goes above and beyond the standard grocery store shelf honey in a way that will certainly speak to all the honey lovers reading today’s post.

Let’s not stop there though.

The Nutrition Aspects Of Honey

My honest view is that honey’s flavour profile potential to elevate the palatability of nutritious foods as well as the uniquely Canadian origin and aesthetic of Wendell Estate Honey are the primary points of passion for me around this product.

But there’s a bit more to it than that from the nutrition perspective.

In 2023 the Nutrition Reviews journal conducted a fascinating systematic review and meta-analysis looking at a total of 18 controlled trials including greater than 1,000 total participants.

They noted that certain varieties of honey including unprocessed raw honey (Wendell Estate) had certain health advantages over other sweeteners including favourable influences on blood sugar, cholesterol and even liver enzymes when used within the context of an overall healthy diet.

Findings like these, quite frankly, are the icing on the cake.

Wendell Estate Honey is a truly unique home-grown product which has potential to bring both joy and novelty to honey lovers who haven’t yet tried it.
